Every landlord on NoBroker Nigeria passes a four-step digital verification before their listing goes live.
NIN verification via Prembly, BVN match confirmation, and phone number OTP. Every landlord ties their listing to a government-verified identity.
Certificate of Occupancy, deed of assignment, or receipt of purchase. Documents are encrypted at rest and only visible to our admin reviewers.
Our Trust & Safety team cross-checks documents against state land registries and the CAC (for agencies). Median review time: under 24 hours.
Once approved, the listing is published with a verification report. Tenants can view the report before they inquire.
What we verify
Landlord identity
NIN check, BVN match, phone OTP. No anonymous sellers.
Legal ownership
C of O, deed of assignment, or purchase receipt on file.
Property match
Address on documents matches the listing address.
Phone ownership
Contact number verified via OTP to prevent impersonation.
Agency registration
For agents: CAC RC number verified against the public registry.
Historical activity
Prior reports and ban status checked before each new listing.
Scam protection SLA
No verification system is perfect. If a listing is reported, we re-review within 24 hours. If a verified landlord is later confirmed fraudulent:
We refund any inquiry or service fees paid through NoBroker
The landlord is permanently banned and their NIN is flagged
Any other active listings from the same account are removed
Tenants with open inquiries are notified within 1 hour
